Love Getaway

My husband and I celebrated our 5th anniversary in March!  We made it really special and had my brother-in-law and sister watch the kids overnight.  We dropped them off around noon on our anniversary (which was a Friday) and went to "our" restaurant.  It's a great gourmet rotisserrie place that we went to on the night Philip proposed, and we've gone there every year for our anniversary ever since.  (Well, except the year that Michaela was born - which was a week before our anniversary.  We still managed to order out from there though.)

After an awesome dinner, we went to a local arcade and spent the afternoon playing around like teenagers.  We had such a great time!

We stayed at an amazing bed and breakfast near Old Town.  It was HUGE, had an amazing hot tub, tons of great amenities, and was just such a warm, cozy little retreat.
That evening, we were still full from lunch, so we grabbed a quick snack of chips & queso (and margarita for me!) at a restaurant in Old Town, and then we went on a Ghost Tour of Old Town.  Old Town Albuquerque has been around for at least 300 years, so there have been tons of deaths, accidents, and more.  We didn't see any ghosts (we did snap a few pictures, but alas, no ghost "spots"), but if was really fun and a great history lesson at the very least.

We capped the overnighter off with a great breakfast at the B&B, and then picked up our little munchkins.  It was a great weekend, and definitely what we needed to recharge our "marriage batteries" after 5 years and 2 kids!
