Operation Monkey Crawl

Alright, I am bound and determined to get Michaela to crawl in the next month or two. Up to this point we have been mutually happy having me carry her around everywhere all day long. But she needs to learn how to crawl and learn to be a little bit independent. I am going to try to give her tummy time 15 minutes out of every hour and see if that helps her develop her muscles and her interest in crawling. Wish me luck!

By the way, thank you all for your very kind comments about the nursing situation. It must have been a blocked duct after all because after some heat therapy and extra long nursing sessions to make sure my breast was fully emptied I feel much much better! :)

Oh good! I'm glad all is well! She'll crawl, each of my little ones crawled at different times. My oldest didn't crawl until 9 months or so.

You know, I had a friend whose daughter didn't crawl at all. She kind of scooted around for a long time and then all the sudden she just stood up and started walking. I remember being paniced about my son learning to use the potty--another of those all powerful milestones we mothers obsess over. Everyone kept telling me it would eventually happen, that he wouldn't be going off to college in diapers. But I didn't relax. He was well over three when he finally did do it. But the advantage to him doing it later was that, once he started, he almost never had accidents. Im rambling. But the point is, I'm sure it will happen. And you're doing all the right stuff--working on it and giving tummy time. Sorry for the random blog within a blog!!

I bet she will start crawling now that you'll be putting her on the floor more often. You know, Jamey didn't walk till almost 15 months, and it was so wierd because all the others had walked between 10-12months. Finally I realized it was because he had 6 other people to carry him around everywhere, and when we stopped and I made him walk next to me holding my hand, he was walking alone in 2 days. So you are on the right track!! Good luck!!
