Classes They Should Offer Pregnant Women

Ok, so my labor class was very informative, but lets face it, when it comes down to it, you just do anything you can think of to get through the pain right? so here is a list of classes that I think would have been more handy to take.

*One Handed Cooking & Cleaning - Because every mom has had to cook a meal or clean a room holding the baby and using just one hand.

*Breastfeeding in Public - How to pull up your shirt, get the baby to latch on, put on a nursing cover, and contain baby's wiggling arms that are trying to pull off nursing cover in one seamless motion that will not expose your stretch-mark covered belly or flash your enormous breast in everyones face.

*Embarrasment Evasion - How to deal with the times when your kid throws a tantrum in public, poops all over your lap, pees in the baptismal font, or any other cringe-worthy activity with a much dignity as possible.

*Declining Nosy Advice - How to gracefully tell every MIL, relative, and stranger you meet in the grocery store to kindly shove it because you know what is best for your baby and putting on an extra layer of clothes/feeding them solids at 4 weeks/using talcum powder instead of ointment just will not work for your baby.

Anyone have any other ideas for classes they would like to see?

How to get rid of annoying family members after the birth, so you can get some rest.

Great blog!!

I agree..we really do need a "in real life" manual that comes with the baby. Haha! Like real life situation type things.

Congrats on your new baby! :)

Here's an idea: "Self-defense Classes" - For all those psychos who think it's "normal" to come up to you and grope your belly.

I had SEVERAL women do that to me...complete strangers in grocery stores and at the mall. Can you say AWKWARD???

I am not a parent *yet* so I have nothing to add, but I think you should write a book. Or atleast an online guide. Those are good tips!

You have a great blog and an adorable baby!! I linked to your blog from Blog Around the World, and we are also in Albuquerque. I'm from Livermore (near Hayward) but whenever we go back to visit, like you, I always say we are going to San Francisco, it sounds so much more impressive!! =)

I have to agree with you on the labour class. I learned so much but when the pain really started I forgot all of it and just screamed.

How to tell your MIL to get away from you and stop starring at your kid while you are nursing. It doesn't take that long..she'll be finished in a minute. You won't miss anything!

Oh, and "please don't touch my belly unless we are on a first name basis!"
